“From eternity to eternity I am God….” *Isaiah 43:13*
Knowing who God is defines your journey as a son or daughter of God. Your understanding and knowledge about Christ will allow you to move from the shore into the deep where you are able to do greater things. *[John 14:13]* once on the shore you are limited in what you can do because you do not have the capacity to do more. Knowing who God is creates in you a capacity to explore in the deep and unlock mysteries which the Lord wants to reveal to the world. Jesus asked his disciples “Who do you say that I am?” And Simon Peter Replied “thou art the Christ of God.” Jesus declared that Simon Peter was blessed because God himself has revealed this to him and not man. This revelation of Jesus gave Peter an identity which changed the world. It gave him capacity to do “greater things.”
You see, man cannot reveal God to you! They can only share their own revelation of who He is to them. When God shows up or speak through his prophets, one of the first thing that’s boldly declared: who He is… “I am God” [Psalm 46:10] “I am the Lord” [Exodus 20:2] I am El-Shaddai-God Almighty [Genesis 17:1] His very nature as God gives us the confidence and the assurance that we can do all things through Christ [phillipians 4:13], it reassures us that God is not comparable, no one can come before Him, no one can undo His doing and who He is will never change. From eternity to eternity he will still and forever be God.
Knowing who God is reveals our identity as we are a reflection of Him. [Gen 1:26] and knowing who we are gives us Authority and Power to do what we have been commissioned to do.
*” simply put: we must get a personal revelation of who God is in order to create capacity to accept who we truly are in Christ so we can go and change the world.”*
*”I AM GOD”* and because of this fact, I have nothing to fear because *”I am his!”*
